Trust cautiously, even in peace
Once upon a time, in the heart of a vast and dense jungle, the mighty Lion—the strongest and most feared of all the creatures—made a monumental decision. After years of living as a ferocious hunter, he decided that it was time to establish his own kingdom. With a powerful roar that echoed through the trees and valleys, he proclaimed his decree for all to hear.
"From
this day forth," the Lion declared, his voice both commanding and
majestic, "this jungle shall be my kingdom. In my realm, there will be no
more chasing, hunting, or killing. All animals, whether great or small, fierce
or timid, shall live together in harmony. Let us put aside fear and violence
and become friends."
The
Lion’s mighty proclamation traveled far and wide, carried by the wind to every
corner of the jungle. Creatures of all kinds—leopards and deer, monkeys and
elephants, birds and reptiles—emerged from their hiding places, curious and
intrigued by this unexpected announcement. They gathered cautiously around the
Lion, drawn by both his power and his unexpected message of peace.
Amidst
the crowd was the Hare, known for his swiftness and keen instincts. He paused
at the edge of the gathering, his large ears twitching nervously and his bright
eyes darting back and forth. The Hare’s heart beat faster than usual, for he
knew the Lion all too well—he had often seen the great beast on the hunt, teeth
bared and claws sharp.
While
most of the animals seemed hopeful, whispering among themselves about the
possibility of living without fear, the Hare remained skeptical. Memories of
past hunts flooded his mind, reminding him of the Lion’s fierce nature and the
countless times he had narrowly escaped the predator’s grasp.
"Peace
sounds beautiful," the Hare mused quietly to himself, "but can a lion
truly change his nature? Is it really possible for a hunter to become a
protector?"
The more
the Hare thought about it, the more uneasy he felt. Though the promise of
harmony was enticing, his instincts warned him against trusting the Lion’s
sudden transformation. In the end, caution triumphed over curiosity. Instead of
joining the newfound kingdom, the Hare slipped away through the underbrush,
determined to seek refuge in a distant part of the jungle where he felt truly
safe.
And so,
while many creatures embraced the Lion's new vision, hoping for a future
without fear, the wise and cautious Hare chose the safety of solitude over the
uncertain promise of peace.
