Fear magnifies the harmless unknown
Long ago, in the heart of a vast, emerald forest, there lived a mighty lion, renowned across the land as the sovereign of all beasts. His roar echoed like thunder, and every creature—great or small—bowed in respect before his strength and majesty. The lion ruled his domain with both power and wisdom, and none dared challenge his place atop the natural order.
One warm
afternoon, curiosity stirred within the lion’s noble heart. He resolved to
explore a part of his realm he had never ventured into—a swamp that lay on the
edge of the forest, hidden beneath a veil of mist and mystery. With steady
steps, he approached the swamp, his paws sinking into the soft, wet earth, and
the smell of dampness filling the air.
As the
lion made his way through the muddy terrain, a strange, unfamiliar sound broke
the stillness. It was neither the howl of the wind nor the cry of any beast he
recognized. The noise sent a shiver down his spine, and his mighty heart began
to race with unease. He paused, ears perked, muscles tensed, as he listened
intently to the odd sound that seemed to rise from the water’s edge.
His amber
eyes scanned the swamp, searching for the source of this eerie noise. Then, in
a sudden splash, a small bullfrog leapt from the murky waters, its throat
puffed as it croaked again. The lion blinked in surprise, realizing that the
creature which had unsettled him was nothing more than this tiny, harmless
frog.
A smile
touched the lion’s face as he shook his great mane. He felt a flicker of
embarrassment but also wisdom. With graceful dignity, the lion turned and
walked away, his heart lighter. From that day forward, he remembered that fear
often grows from shadows and sounds, and not always from real danger.
