"Adapt to life's changes."
Once, there was a mighty Battle Horse renowned for his strength and bravery in countless wars. He had galloped fearlessly through fierce battles, his courage admired by soldiers and commanders alike. But as the years passed and age began to weigh upon him, his days of glory on the battlefield came to an end.
No longer
needed for war, the Battle Horse was sent to live with a Miller, tasked with
aiding in the laborious work of grinding grain into flour. The Miller hitched
the aging horse to a heavy millstone, and the once-proud warrior found himself
plodding in circles, turning the stone day after day.
As he
worked, the Battle Horse couldn’t help but feel a deep melancholy. With each
step, he sighed and muttered to himself, "Once, I was a gallant warhorse,
honored and cared for. Now, I am reduced to this—turning a millstone like a
common draft animal. How could this be my fate?"
The
Miller, who had spent years observing the ebb and flow of life, noticed the
horse's despondency. Stopping his work, he approached the animal and spoke in a
calm, understanding tone. "I know you long for the past," he said
gently. "But life is a journey of change. Glory fades, and we must embrace
what lies ahead. There is dignity even in this work, for you still serve a
purpose, providing for others in a new way."
The horse listened quietly, the Miller’s words sinking into his heart. Though the sadness lingered, he realized the truth in them. With a deep breath, the old warhorse resumed his labor, striving to find acceptance and a sense of peace in his new life.
