Always follow instructions carefully.
Once upon a time, there was a sweet little girl who everyone loved, especially her grandmother. One day, her grandmother gave her a red hooded cloak. It looked so nice that the girl wore it all the time, and people called her Little Red Riding Hood.
One
morning, her mother gave her a basket with some cake and juice and said, “Take
this to your grandmother. She is not feeling well. Walk carefully, and stay on
the path. Don’t wander off, or you might get into trouble.”
Little
Red Riding Hood promised she would be careful and set off to her grandmother’s
house, which was deep in the forest.
As she
walked, a big, bad wolf met her. Little Red Riding Hood didn’t know he
was dangerous, so she wasn’t afraid. The wolf said, “Good morning, Little Red
Riding Hood! Where are you going?”
“I’m
going to my grandmother’s house to bring her some cake and juice,” she
answered.
The wolf
smiled a sneaky smile and asked, “Where does your grandmother live?”
“She
lives under the three big oak trees in the forest,” said Little Red Riding
Hood.
The wolf
thought, “Mmm, I’ll eat the grandmother first, then I’ll eat Little Red Riding
Hood!” He told her, “Look at all the pretty flowers in the forest! Why not pick
some for your grandmother?”
Little
Red Riding Hood thought that was a good idea. She left the path and began
picking flowers, going deeper and deeper into the woods.
Meanwhile,
the wolf ran straight to Grandma’s house. He knocked on the door.
“Who is
there?” asked Grandma.
“It’s me,
Little Red Riding Hood,” said the wolf in a sweet voice. “I brought you cake
and juice.”
“Come in,
dear,” said Grandma. “Just lift the latch; I’m too weak to get up.”
The wolf
went inside, jumped on Grandma’s bed, and swallowed her up! Then he put on her
clothes and lay down in her bed, pretending to be her.
After a
while, Little Red Riding Hood arrived. She saw the door was open and felt a
little worried. “That’s strange,” she thought. She went inside and said, “Good
morning, Grandma!” But there was no answer.
She
walked to the bed and pulled back the curtains. There lay the wolf, dressed as
her grandmother.
“Grandma,
what big ears you have!” said Little Red Riding Hood.
“The
better to hear you with, my dear,” said the wolf.
“Grandma,
what big eyes you have!”
“The
better to see you with, my dear.”
“Grandma,
what big hands you have!”
“The
better to hug you with, my dear.”
“But
Grandma, what big teeth you have!”
“The
better to eat you with!” growled the wolf. And with that, he jumped out of bed
and swallowed Little Red Riding Hood!
Just
then, a huntsman was passing by. He heard loud snoring from Grandma’s
house and thought, “That doesn’t sound right.” He went inside and saw the wolf
asleep in Grandma’s bed.
“Aha!
I’ve finally found you!” said the huntsman. He took his scissors and carefully
cut open the wolf’s stomach. Out popped Little Red Riding Hood and Grandma,
both alive and well!
Little
Red Riding Hood said, “Oh, it was so dark inside the wolf!”
The
huntsman filled the wolf’s belly with heavy stones. When the wolf woke up and
tried to run away, he fell down and never got up again.
Everyone
was happy! Grandma ate the cake and drank the juice, and she felt much better.
Little Red Riding Hood promised, “I will never leave the path again when my
mother tells me not to.”
And they
all lived happily ever after!
