• The Wind and the Sun

kindness

The Wind and the Sun were arguing about who was stronger. As they were talking, they saw a traveler walking down the road. The Sun said, "I have an idea to settle our argument. Let's see who can make that traveler take off his cloak. You go first."

The Sun hid behind a cloud, and the Wind started to blow as hard as it could. But the stronger the Wind blew, the tighter the traveler held onto his cloak. No matter how hard the Wind tried, the traveler wouldn't let go of his cloak. Finally, the Wind gave up.

Then, the Sun came out from behind the cloud and gently shone down on the traveler. Soon, it became so warm that the traveler couldn't keep his cloak on and had to take it off.

This shows that kindness works better than force.
