He who protects his crops, reaps its benefits.
In a small village, there lived a hardworking farmer. He worked tirelessly in his big field, growing grains to support his family and the village. One morning, he found a group of cranes in his field, stepping on his freshly planted seeds and eating them with their long beaks.
At first, the farmer tried to scare
the cranes away by swinging an empty sling in the air. The cranes, frightened
by the sound, would fly away, but they always came back when the farmer wasn't
looking. This back-and-forth went on for several days, with the farmer getting
more tired each time, while the cranes became braver.
Watching his crops disappear day by
day, the farmer realized he needed to take stronger action. So, he put rocks in
his sling. The next morning, when the cranes came back, the farmer swung his
sling with rocks inside. The stones flew close to the cranes, making them feel
the threat.
The cranes, who had been unafraid until now, understood that the farmer was serious. Realizing the field was no longer safe, they quickly flew away and never returned. The farmer was relieved, knowing his crops were safe from the troublesome cranes.
