Cinderella: The Kind Girl
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Cinderella. She lived with her mean stepmother and two stepsisters. Every morning, Cinderella woke up early to start the fire and cook the meals. She worked hard all day, keeping the house clean and tidy. Because of the ashes and cinders, she was always dirty, which is why her stepsisters called her Cinderella and made fun of her.
One day, exciting news spread through
the village. The Prince was going to have a big ball to find a bride, and all
the young ladies were invited! Cinderella's stepsisters were thrilled and began
to plan their outfits. They made Cinderella work even harder to sew their
beautiful dresses.
"Faster!" shouted one
stepsister.
"Is this a dress?" screamed
the other.
Cinderella wished she could go to the
ball too. "When can I make my dress for the ball?" she asked.
"You?" her stepmother
laughed. "Who said you could go to the ball?"
The stepsisters laughed loudly.
"Cinderella, going to the ball? Looking like that?"
Cinderella thought to herself, "I
may look dirty, but I'm not really a mess. If I could, I would go to the
ball."
Finally, the big day arrived. The
stepmother and stepsisters got ready and left in a fancy carriage without even
saying goodbye to Cinderella. As the carriage disappeared, Cinderella sighed,
"If only I could go to the ball too!"
Suddenly, there was a puff of smoke,
and a fairy appeared. "Did you call?" asked the fairy.
"Who are you?" said
Cinderella, surprised.
"I'm your Fairy Godmother. I know
what you wish for, and I am here to help."
"But my wish is impossible,"
said Cinderella.
"Nonsense!" said the Fairy
Godmother. She waved her wand, and in an instant, Cinderella was clean and
dressed in a beautiful blue gown. Her hair was done up with a golden band.
Another wave of the wand, and a magical carriage with horses appeared.
"Am I dreaming?" Cinderella
asked.
"It's real," said the Fairy
Godmother. "But remember, the magic only lasts until midnight. After that,
everything will return to normal."
"I will leave the ball before
midnight," Cinderella promised.
Cinderella stepped into the carriage,
and they were off to the ball.
At the ball, the Prince was feeling sad
because none of the girls he met were interesting to him. Then, he saw
Cinderella coming down the stairs. She looked so beautiful and graceful that
everyone turned to look at her.
The Prince went to Cinderella and
asked, "May I have this dance?"
Cinderella smiled and they danced
together. They talked and laughed, and the Prince felt happy. They danced many
times, and Cinderella lost track of time.
"Dong!" went the clock. It
was almost midnight!
"I must go!" Cinderella
cried.
"Why?" asked the Prince.
"I just have to!" she said,
running away. As she ran, one of her glass slippers fell off.
The Prince picked up the slipper and
vowed, "I will find her, and she will be my bride!"
The next day, the Prince went from
house to house with the glass slipper, looking for the girl whose foot would
fit. When he reached Cinderella's house, the stepsisters tried to squeeze their
feet into the slipper, but it was no use.
"Are there any other young women
in the house?" the Prince asked.
"No," said the stepmother.
"Maybe there is one more,"
said Cinderella, stepping into the room.
The Prince knelt down and tried the
slipper on Cinderella's foot. It fit perfectly! Cinderella took out the other
glass slipper from her pocket.
"I knew it was you!" cried
the Prince.
The stepsisters and stepmother were
shocked, but it was too late. The Prince and Cinderella had found each other,
and they were very happy.
And so, Cinderella and the Prince got married and lived happily ever after.
