In a land full of tall trees and gentle hills, there lived a crafty Wolf and a smart Sheep.
One day, the Wolf hurt his paw and
couldn’t walk properly. He hobbled slowly to a nearby creek but realized he
couldn’t bend down to drink the water. Just then, he saw the Sheep strolling by
and thought this was his chance to get some help. In a raspy voice, he called
out, "Dear Sheep, could you please bring me some water from the stream?
I'm feeling weak and very thirsty."
The Sheep, who was both clever and
cautious, looked at the Wolf and said, "Mr. Wolf, if I bring you water, I
might end up becoming your lunch instead."
With a quick jump, the Sheep turned and walked away, leaving the Wolf all alone by the creek. The Sheep knew it was best to avoid the hungry Wolf. As the Sheep walked away safely, the forest was filled with the grumbling of the Wolf and the relieved sighs of the Sheep.
