Goldilocks
Once upon a time, a little girl named
Goldilocks lived near the woods. She had beautiful golden curls, so everyone
called her Goldilocks.
One day, Goldilocks went for a walk and saw a pretty bird flying in front of her. She followed the bird into the woods, even though her mother had told her many times not to go there.
Goldilocks went deeper and deeper into
the woods but soon lost sight of the bird. She realized she was lost and felt
scared. Looking around, she saw a house not too far away.
Goldilocks went to the house and
knocked on the door, but no one answered. She knocked again, still no answer.
She knocked a third time, and this time the door opened by itself.
“Well, the door is open,” she said. “I
might as well go in.”
Inside, Goldilocks smelled something
delicious. On the table were three bowls of oatmeal. She realized how hungry
she was and decided to taste the oatmeal.
First, she tried the oatmeal from the
big bowl. “Ouch! Too hot!” she said. Next, she tried the oatmeal from the
medium bowl. “Brr! Too cold!” she said. Finally, she tried the oatmeal from the
small bowl. “Yum! Just right!” she said, and she ate it all up.
After eating, Goldilocks felt tired and
wanted to sit down. In the living room, she saw three chairs. She tried the big
chair first. “Oof! Too hard!” she said. Then, she tried the medium chair.
“Uh-oh! Too soft!” she said. Lastly, she tried the small chair. “Ah, just right!”
she said. But as she leaned back, the small chair broke into pieces.
Feeling even more tired, Goldilocks
went upstairs and found three beds. She tried the big bed first. “Too hard!”
she said. Then, she tried the medium bed. “Too soft!” she said. Finally, she
tried the small bed. “Just right!” she said, and she fell fast asleep.
While Goldilocks was sleeping, the
three bears who lived in the house came home. They noticed someone had been
eating their oatmeal.
“Someone’s been eating my oatmeal!”
said Papa Bear.
“Someone’s been eating my oatmeal!”
said Mama Bear.
“Someone’s been eating my oatmeal, and
it’s all gone!” said Little Bear.
Then they went to the living room.
“Someone’s been sitting in my chair!”
said Papa Bear.
“Someone’s been sitting in my chair!”
said Mama Bear.
“Someone’s been sitting in my chair,
and it’s broken!” said Little Bear.
The bears were very surprised and went
upstairs to check their beds.
“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!”
said Papa Bear.
“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!”
said Mama Bear.
“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed, and
here she is!” said Little Bear.
Goldilocks woke up and saw the three
bears looking at her. She was so scared that she jumped out of bed and ran out
of the house.
Little Bear chased after her. “Wait,
please!” he called.
Goldilocks stopped and turned around.
“Why did you come into our house?”
asked Little Bear.
“I didn’t think,” said Goldilocks.
“Why did you eat my breakfast and break
my chair?” asked Little Bear.
“I didn’t think,” said Goldilocks.
Both were quiet for a moment.
“I could have waited outside your
door,” said Goldilocks.
“We might have invited you in if we
knew you were hungry,” said Mama Bear.
“I’m sorry about the chair,” said
Goldilocks. “I can help fix it if you have glue.”
“Of course we have glue!” said Papa
Bear. “Come on in.”
Goldilocks smiled and went back into
the house with the bears. They all became good friends and promised to always
think before acting.
