• The Fox and the Stork

One bad turn deserves another

Once upon a time, a Fox and a Stork were good friends. One day, the Fox invited the Stork to dinner. He served soup in a very shallow dish. The Fox could easily lick up the soup, but the Stork, with her long beak, could only get a little bit and left hungry.

"I’m sorry," said the Fox, "that the soup is not to your liking."

"Don’t worry," said the Stork. "I would like to invite you to my house for dinner soon."

So, they picked a day for the Fox to visit the Stork. When they sat down to eat, the Stork served dinner in a tall jar with a narrow neck. The Stork could easily reach the food with her long beak, but the Fox couldn’t get any and just licked the outside of the jar.

"I won’t apologize for the dinner," said the Stork.

“One bad turn deserves another”.
